LCRT Consulting has been commissioned for projects with a number of different organizations and has served on the advisory boards of numerous curriculum development projects and ESL committees in Ontario.

Test Development and Administration

International Pharmacy Graduate Language Assessment (IPGLA)

A pharmacy specific language assessment, IPGLA was initially designed for admission to the International Pharmacy Graduate Program (IPG) at the University of Toronto (an Ontario funded Bridging Program). LCRT Consulting also administered and maintained the test for use in the Enhanced Language Training (ELT) program for internationally trained pharmacists at the University of Toronto. The IPGLA is currently being reviewed by the National Association of Pharmacy Regulating Authorities (NAPRA) as part of its national language assessment strategy.

LCRT Consulting partnered with the University of Toronto and received Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration funding to conduct a successful validation study on the IPGLA. Key validation activities included score correlation studies with a commercial language assessment (IELTS), profession expert content analysis, and psychometric analysis on test items.

Michener English Language Assessment (MELA)

A health technology specific language assessment initially developed for admission to the Access & Options Program (an Ontario funded Bridging Program) and now used for admission to a variety of programs at the Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences.

LCRT Consulting partnered with the Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences and received Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration funding to conduct a validation study on the MELA. Key validation activities included score correlation studies with a commercial language assessment (IELTS), profession expert content analysis, and psychometric analysis on test items.
